Congratulations! Adopting a rescue draft horse or mule is one of the most rewarding endeavors to be a part of. We try to make the process as simple and straightforward as possible. Here are the steps in the process:
- Complete and email us an adoption application by using one of the links above;
- Once approved, Coast to Coast Draft Horse Connection will work with you to find the right horse or mule for you;
- An adoption fee commitment is next. This assures the draft horse or mule is safe from shipping to slaughter and will have typically have the following:
- Negative Coggins test
- Quarantine fees
- Any basic medical care
- Negative Coggins test
Transportation costs and out of state travel documents are not factored in to the adoption fee. We have spectacular transporters we can recommend who usually can bring your new fur buddy to you for approximately $1/mile.
Plus, we will support you with educational information for caring for your draft horse or mule!
